The success of a school district directly impacts our property values, small business, families and kids....really the actions of the school board affect the ENTIRE community.

A recall effort should not be required to bring necessary change.

Yet, Since the recall effort began

The district has started sending recaps of their board meetings and plans to parents enrolled in parent square. Though it's superficial in nature and only goes to parents of children enrolled in the district, it is more than we got before.

The district has completely revamped their website, and pulled the information on the bonds and workfroce housing to the forefront. Prior, it was 3-4 menus deep. This is still not current, as the expenditures are not listed for 2024 or 2025, but we hope to see some progress on this as we continue to call it out.

There is still a long way to go, but we are proud at the progress this had brought. It is disheartening that after years of people asking the board for transparency that it took a recall campaign to make small improvements.

Pacifica needs to change course and get true LEADERS to steer the district in the right direction. Pacifica cannot afford to wait. It is time to Recall the PSD Board.

The Pacifica School Board track record of over 10 years shows:

Avoidance of important decisions, resulting in crisis that requires last minute, rushed decisions.

A recent exodous of quality, tenured teachers as a result of the school district actions.

*Non-exisitent communication to taxpayers or parents as on issues that affect them directly.

*A recently announced delay AGAIN on an already slow Workforce Housing plan that has been in the planning phase for over 10 years. This time, it was due to the quotes coming in at up to $49 Million and deemed to high, even though they had set asside $55 Million for the project and have $70 Million from Measure G.

The remaining $15 Million in funds have been suggested for school improvements... but also, a new district office construction they estimated at $7 Million dollars.

Meanwhile, while we wait for the Workforce Housing to be rebid, prices only rise and taxpayers foot the bill. Is this what you voted for on Measure G?

Our Pacifica School Board ignored a shrinking budget for OVER 5 YEARS and never took action until it was a crisis.

While budget problems deepened, the board never discussed this openly with the community or during public meetings.

The board opted to move forward on construction of an entire wing at a school they knew would be vacated, WASTING OVER $5 MILLION DOLLARS in taxpayer bond money.

Our district ghosts the taxpayers out of communications regarding expenditures for the bonds that WE voted for, and WE pay for. The district says they rely on parents to tell their non-student friends and neighbors. How is this helpful?

No Transparency. No Engagement. No Accountability. No Leadership

Wasted bond spending, broken trust, and reactive decision do not put children first.

This hurts our home values, our local business and our entire community.

Let's make positive change in the Pacifica School Board.
